Description
Our excursion starts at the renowned Byzantine Monastery above the resort of Paleokastritsa, where you can enjoy the stunning views and visit the famous Paleokastritsa Monastery with its small museum that houses Byzantine icons, holy books, and other relics. Inside the Monastery, you will also find an old olive press.
After that, we head towards the quaint village of Lakones, also known as "Bella Vista", where we pause for a coffee break. Here, you can enjoy the breathtaking views over the enchanting bays of Paleokastritsa, one of the island's most well-known tourist resorts.
Next, we continue our journey through small villages and olive groves to the charming historical village of Afionas, with narrow streets overgrown with flowers. You can explore the village and marvel at the stunning scenery over Agios Georgios, Arillas, the famous Porto Timoni, and the Diapontias Islands.
After a short drive down the mountain, we reach the lovely sandy beach of Agios Georgios, where we have plenty of time for a delicious lunch and a swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea.
We end our day with tasting local Corfiot products, a great way to experience the island's unique flavours and culinary traditions.
